"It's better a bit of dry bread in peace, than a feast in a house full of fighting." —Prov.17:1

Jibaros.net "Toíto en Español"
ear Jíbaros.. Allow me to take sometime and deliver a few lines and fortify our bond... If you'd visited JIBAROS, you'd notice new and different themes for some pages. That's my attempt to give you some "eye candy", and "eye candy" is good. It should make you comfortable and encourage browsing.

After some pressure from some disgruntled Puerto Ricans who dared to ask... why build a Boricua website in a language other than Spanish? Simply put, Puerto Ricans in PR do not need the continual reminding that a guanime is a "sorullo" (croquette) wrapped in a banana leaf.

I aim at the 4 plus millions that live in the USA and have little or no knowledge about the land that gave them birth. There's another 4 point something million Boricuas throughout the rest of the planet... To them I give Jíbaros.com, one which has been received as a 'breath of fresh air' for USA Ricans and World-a-Ricans, with a humble 25,000 hits per day!

YESS! For a long time, I've entertained the thought of writing in the language of the Jibaros... with all the necessary jíbaro syntax in order to create a genuine flavor of the Tongue of the Puerto Rican country man... the one with the simple mind and the ubiquitous machete under his arm. I thus, aim to describe the Jíbaro's onomatopoeic utterances into plain text.

For the natives (no offense) I am re-introducing JIBAROS.NET, my page in Spanish. Español like the one used by our people in the mountains where life is still simple and people live to be 100 years and more. A place where wisdom is more important than knowledge... where honor is still king and your word is your bond...¡Pa'encima, pueh!
